My Blackberry already does that without the Gateway.

i just plug my blacberry directly into my av receiver using a mini jack to RCA cable,

with blue tooth it just means your gateway is permanently pluged into your av receiver, but you still have to bring your blackberry within 10 meteres of the gateway,
since you are already 10 meteres away why not just plug the blackberry directly into the AV receiver.
don't see the point in needing a gateway.

If only they had solid state media buttons so I didn't have to unlock my BlackBerry & open the media player to change songs... We can already change the volume and pause the song when locked so why not make some of those non-functional-when-locked "convenience keys" act as next / back buttons?

I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to see why wireless music is better than having something plugged into a stereo. Come on! that's like saying "who needs bluetooth when I can just plug in a headset to talk with a n ice little wire hanging down and getting in my way". Face it Clive. You want it.

The next firmware release will allow you to skip forward and backward through songs by holding down the volume button, even with the keyboard locked.
