BlackBerry Cool Staging: Hey America: How’s your Curves? (Updated!)

  • Guest · 2 years ago
I am with Verizon and I am not eligible for an upgrade but after some talking and haggling I have ordered my 8830 for $337 before tax. I would LOVE to be able to own the Curve but, just like the iPhone, it seems manufacturers love GSM. I just can't find it in myself to give up Verizon's great network service for a device... but ohh, so tempting.

NADA, NOTHING. STORE REP IN NYC SAID 2 WEEKS.

Just got off the phone with a rep at the Times Square ATT/Cingular store in NYC. The rep said that the store was supposed to receive a Blackberry Curve shipment today but that no such shipment has arrived and she didn't believe there was any chance of a delivery later today, Friday, May 25. When I asked if it would be available on Monday or Tuesday of next week, she said she just didn't know.

Zero. Most current speculation is next week - the very end of May or the very beginning of June.

How about sending a little Canadian Curvaceous love down the US? I'd be happy to have an unlocked Rogers Curve. Can you set us up Mr. BlackberryCool?

Same here, NOTHING! Most likely it got pushed back until after the weekend. My AT&T hook informed me that the iphone has been pushed back a bit , and is most likely the reason for the delay in rolling out the Curve for the long weekend. He said it can drop at anytime, and then reminded me of the nonsense that went on with the Pearl launch. If I had to guess, I'd say we'll see it by the end of next week! Aghh, another week!

    Ryan,

At&t's network (GSM) is just as good if not better than what your hopes and dreams tell you vzw has. There are many good reasons why "manufacturers love GSM", and why manufacturers and consumers ignore cdma, and why service providers are taking old cdma networks and upgrading them to global standard GSM networks.

No Curve in the AT&T store on Wall Street in Manhattan today. No word on when it's coming.
