Or perhaps its something as simple as a vast right wing conspiracy to dull your mind and forget that there's that i-something or other being released just a few weeks later.

As for me, I'm just waiting for RIM to announce that they will be writing a module to run Blackberry as a virtual inside that i-something or other

What about the possibility that Boy Genius actually works for RIM (or is paid by RIM) to publish his "leaked" information? Many typical companies would have put a stop to his "leaked" info long ago if he was actually releasing highly confidential information that they did not like the public to know about.

Unfortunately that is not the case..."insiders" within a few of the service providers in North America were made aware Monday (or perhaps earlier) that this would be announced today.

You're probably right...especially given that this is the first time in my memory that there has been an official announcement about a handheld getting out there before the handheld was available from any carriers....
